After a few applications I used this product like a pro. I don't even use the plastic gloves, although everyone's skin is different. It does stain my fingers, but it wears off within hours. Although you are warned to wash your beard with shampoo instead of soap, I use soap, anyway. My short beard grows out long before soap would wear off the dye. I'm visually impaired and don't have a particularly steady hand, yet I have no problem applying this product. I have used it for over a year, and will continue to do so until my hair becomes gray enough to match my beard's natural color. It's easy to darken your beard a little or a lot.

I got the correct color, did EXACTLY what it was supposed to do, to be honest I have no idea why they give you THREE. I am still on my first case. You don't have to use it all. I have a small beard and facial hair, and it just filled everything in nice. Would recommend and will probably buy again once I use all three up.
