Many ethnic hair greases are a bit heavy on the scalp with a strange chemically smell. This one is really light and thin. It even keeps my scalp and hair feeling soft and moisturized for up to 4 days (as I have extremely dry scalp). Only thing I have to say is, in the past year it has began to smell very menthol-ly. About 2 years ago, the product was a more earthy and herbal smell. I think they may have adjusted the formula. That's neither here nor there. It gets the job done.

Only the original formula in the 7.5 oz is good, the "new improved formula" in the 5.2 oz container is horrible. The original formula is a light sealer for my moisturizer.

Especially if you have permed or colored treated hair, dryness, brittleness, shedding and damaged scalp. It rejuevenates, tingles and soothe the scalp. Works good on kids hair too. It will stop the damaged to your hair. My family have used this product for years it used to be called "Iodine"
